Who It Is
Parallelis is Jesse Rolfe, a beginner in both filmmaking and chip music, following a parallel, steady advancement in both. Living in Upstate New York in the Hudson Valley, he has experienced both the calm of the country, the peace and clutter of suburbia, and the noisy, always bustling New York City.
He began filmmaking approximately around 2008, when he and his friends figured out the wonders of stop motion with his mom's camcorder. Since then he has made many various short films (some good, some bad) and has gone to various courses and camps on film production, at various colleges in the area. He continues to work at Red Hook Broadcasting Company (RHBC), the local tv announcements for his school, doing any and every job available, both on air and off.
He was introduced into Chip Music the Christmas of 2009, when he got Supercommuter's self-titled CD. Through digging around online, he became an avid fan of the scene, listening to every artist he could and getting to chip shows as much as a could. Finally, after loosing his ride to Blip Fest '11, he had the money and the resources to buy his first LSDJ. Since then he has been making chiptunes regularly and integrating himself into the 8-bit community on 8bc.org, chipmusic.org, noichan.org, and soundcloud.com.
